The Boat House at Christmas

It’s approaching that time of year that us at The Boat House absolutely adore! That’s right, we’re talking about Christmas. You might be thinking, ‘It’s a bit early, isn’t it?’ and to that, we say, ‘absolutely NOT!’.

We love this time of year, where the leaves redden and fall off their branches, when you dig all your jumpers out of storage, and everyone loves a good hot drink to warm their cold hands. At the Boat House, we encourage this behaviour wholeheartedly. Bring yourself and your jumpers and allow us to warm you up with festive spirit!

In the wake of winter, we’ve brought out our official Christmas Menus for you to browse! But what can you expect from this year’s special yule selection? Let’s find out…

Seasonal Starters

Our starters kick off with our beautiful homemade soup of the day, accompanied by a warm farmhouse bread roll. Perfect to warm the soul, and a wonderful option on a cold winter’s day. We also have a tasty chicken liver and brandy pate, partnered with a classic sweet red onion chutney, another worthy choice.

Next on offer, we have our cranberry caramelised onion and brie tartelette, served with a beetroot rocket salad and drizzled with a balsamic dressing. Alongside that, we’ve developed our prawn timbale, offering it with sundried tomatoes, pine nuts and roasted red peppers. What’s not to love?! Last but not least, we have a sumptuous melon medley, a selection of melon lightly drizzled with a melon and raspberry coulis and a fresh berry garnish. A perfect palate warm-up for any winter evening!

Merry Mains

Our Merry Mains include a traditional oven roast with turkey and all the festive trimmings! Expect to find homemade sausage stuffing, chipolatas, roast potatoes, buttery mash, beautiful Yorkshire puddings and seasonal vegetables. What more could you need?!
If this isn’t quite to your fancy, we have our slow roasted silverside of beef, partnered with roast potatoes, buttery mash, homemade Yorkshire puddings and seasonal vegetables, doused with rich pan gravy.

Our famous chicken breast is next on our festive menu, paired with creamy sauce and black cracked peppercorn and includes roast potatoes, mashed potato and seasonal veggies. If you’re a veggie yourself, then our festive nut roast might be right up your street. Our roast is paired lovingly with Gouda and Emmental cheese, bound with lentils and mixed nuts and covered in wild mushroom gravy. A side of roast potatoes, buttery mash and seasonal vegetables accompanies it, making it the perfect, mouth-watering meat-free option.

Dashing Desserts

Christmas wouldn’t quite be the same without Christmas pudding. That’s why we’ve supplied you with our traditional and homemade Christmas pudding, covered in rum sauce and festive cheer.

If that doesn’t quite put the jingle in your bells, we have the option of any dessert from our cabinet, which you can reserve on your arrival. Dessert choices can vary, but we’ll be sure to run you through our selection on the day!
